.A juvenile delinquent and a status offender may be viewed to have the exact same meaning, although this is not the case

1.A juvenile delinquent and a status offender may be viewed to have the exact same meaning, although this is not the case.  A juvenile delinquent is a child whom is involved in a crime that would get anybody of any age in trouble with the law (Siegel & Welsh, 2012).  For example, a juvenile delinquent may be a 12 year old boy involved in a gang that had taken part in a murder down an alleyway in New York City.  This is a juvenile delinquent because of course, he is a child, and if this crime had been committed when the boy was older, he would still be serving time.  Murder is never okay, regardless of age.  A status offender is a child who has committed a crime that would not have been a crime if the individual was of legal age (Siegel & Welsh, 2012).  For example, a status offense might be a 16 year old girl getting caught drinking alcohol at the bar.  This of course is a status offense because someday in the girl’s future, she will be of age to sit at a bar and drink a cold glass of beer without having to worry about the repercussions if she had been caught.

Status offender has a higher representation of females because they are more likely to be runaways at a young age.  If a girl is to run away from home before she turns 18, the law can get involved, although after legal age comes, there is not much that can be done (Siegel & Welsh, 2012).    If the women is missing in action, then perhaps the police can send out search parties for her, although it will be completely legal at that point for the individual to go wherever she wants.  If she wants to be homeless on the streets, then she can go ahead and be homeless.  Once she is 18, she is no longer required to do anything that parental consent may ask of her.

2.Juvenile Delinquency

Differences Between Juvenile Delinquent and Status Offender

The difference between the status offender and a juvenile delinquent are that a status offender does not go to a juvenile detention center. On the other hand most juvenile delinquents will be sent to a juvenile detention center, where they live, they must attend educational classes and remain there until they are released from custody. Status offenses would not be considered a violation of the law if an adult were to commit these violations, such as consumption of alcoholic beverages, what makes it an offense is the age of the minor child.  “A status offense is the illegal behavior of a child (under the age of 18 years old)”. “Such Offenses include sexual behavior, alcohol consumption, running away, and truancy” A Justification for the current system. By Rose, T Legal history of the juvenile justice system

Girls have a higher representation than boy in status offenses because; girls have a greater tendency to run away from home than boys. “For girls running away stems from abuse, especially sexual abuse. Some estimate that 70% of girls who run away have been sexually abused. As many as 2/3 of girls in detention have been sexually abused.” Female delinquency – sheldensays.com

3. The financial market is the place where financial assets are brought, sold traded and classifies as money or capital market. In this industry it can sometimes be a hit or mis kind of thing however, my job is to insure you that even if you miss somewhere else we hit somewhere else, thats why there are many levels from investors insures buyers and sellers and with the kind of money your starting off with we should be able to invest where needed, also maintain a float while getting a short profit for starts. The mistake everyone makes is looking what stock is doing well and then just putting there every dime into it but thats not the way of course if you wanna invest follow your gut but play it safe this is a dangerous game I seen people and businesses on top and now can’t even afford to eat out anymore. Think !this is a gamble so your not the only one with the mindset go after whats doing good.

While you where waiting on me, I couldn’t help but to noticed that you where interested in what was just said on T.V with the F.D.A. let me explain something to you. In a highly efficient market you have to be careful because while it may seem that things are going well and that could be true the odd’s of a profit are very low, because the security prices fully reflect what should be earned so there is no real profit because, there was no real risk. its either you was in before hand at a lower rate or your basically taking a chance to lose money which is another mistake people often make.

b. She has read a number of newspaper articles about a huge IPO being carried out by a leading technology company. She wants to get as many shares in the IPO as possible and would even be willing to buy the shares in the open market immediately after the issue. What advice do you have for her? That she should wait it out, and point her to the article on kodak.

4. In financial markets, the money or funds can be transferred from buyers to sellers, or savors (investors) to borrowers, and this fund flows can create trade and business transaction. In one word, the money or capital can be used efficiently and create more wealth and balance the distribution of wealth. However, in a financial crisis, the economy will be in recession, and it indicates the business may experience losses in revenue and profits, or even go to bankruptcy. Then these businesses may discharge employee to minimize the losses, and it will lead to more unemployment. The unemployment will bring reduction of consumption of goods, services and travel since these people have not income and they have not the spare money to expend. Also, the shortage of spare money and poor business performance will lower the investment confidence of investors. In poor business performance and unemployment situation, the government would also lose in tax revenue and then lead to a unhealthy economy. In conclusion, in a well-developed financial market, business can borrow the money from the investors who have spare money and these business can expand their business or investment to create more employment and profit, then it solve the unemployment problems and pay more tax to government. Also, individual are more willing to spend after supporting their life. That is why the government should use funds to stimulate consumption of people in economy recession.

   a. I will advise Michelle to buy the stocks just after the announcement. Since the new product approved by FDA indicates that the medical research company will get significant new revenue in future. In addition to the highly efficient market, the stock price will take very short time, such as one day to jump to a higher price. So, Michelle may buy shares of this company’s stocks just after the announcement of this news and then sell in future when the price jump to a new equilibrium level after the news are widely known for many investors.

b. I will advise Michelle to buy the shares in the IPO, since this is a leading technology company and it might get high return from consistent R&D where getting funds from IPO. So many investors may be confident in the future performance of this company. When this company is IPS, Michelle will buy the new securities which are possible in the lowest price. Then, the stocks will be very popular in the market and Michelle can sell in the secondary market when the stock price goes up

5.  Well-developed financial markets play an important role in contributing to the health and efficiency of an economy. Financial markets transfer funds from people that have an excess of available funds to people that have a shortage. Activities in financial markets have direct effects on the efficiency of the economy, behavior of businesses and individual’s wealth. In addition, efficient financial markets tend to lower search and transactions costs in the economy. The U.S. financial markets consist of many separate markets for diverse products offered on a range of trading platforms and exchanges. Among the many products are fixed-income securities, equities, foreign exchange and derivatives. The transactions go through financial institutions: investment banks, commercial banks, pension funds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, hedge funds, financial services corporations, private equity companies.  There are two leading stock markets in the US: New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ.

a. In the highly efficient stock markets investors buy and sell stocks confidently thinking that they are getting good prices. In this case the company’s stock market price would reflect all publicly available information, like FDA approval. Hence, Michele won’t make big profits on this stock. I would not advise to buy it.

b. IPO is the first sale of stock by the company to the public. It enables a company’s owners to raise capital from a wide variety of outside investors. Since it’s a leading technology company, it would be hard for Michele to purchase shares in open market. The demand for these shares would be higher than the supply, so shares would be sold for large institutional investors. I would advise Michele to buy shares in secondary market.’

6.   Financial markets are important to a healthy economy because a market is where the people are able to trade financial securities, commodities, and other teams at a low cost and it can affect prices that reflect the supply and demand. B. they contribute to economic growth because they help to develop and get new ideas about the business.

     a. the advice that I would give Michelle would be to not give into buying the stocks right away. She should wait and see how well the stocks are first and secondly to do research on it first to find out the pros and cons of investing stocks into that business or project because if she doesn’t do her research first and wait it out, and just goes right into buying the stocks without any knowledge she would be wasting her time as well as her money.

  b. her buying into the IPO would have a lot of problems if it turns out to be a bad thing. IPO stands for initial public offering. This means that the 1st sale of the stock by a private company to the public. They are much smaller and usually a new company that are looking to expand but they can only expand to a company that has been around for long. I would tell her to wait it out and see what happens.

7.Strong financial markets are essential for a healthy economy and the economic growth of a country.  The Federal Reserve explains how financial markets help to efficiently direct the flow of savings and investments in the economy in ways that facilitate the accumulation of capital and the productions of goods and services. A well-functioning financial market facilitates the flow of capital from investors to users.  It promotes economic growth and over all performs better than the poorly-functioning markets.

a. My advice to Michelle would be to first do some research on the new product approved by the FDA.  Do not just jump and buy just because you hear someone.  People at times miscommunicate information.   Then if Michelle is still interested in buying she should start off small since this drug was just approved by the FDA.  This is a new product and not much is known of it.  Will it be good or bad to the public?

b. I would inform Michelle that it is often difficult to purchase shares in the initial offering.  These types of deals are often oversubscribed.  Investment

8. It is noted in the book that “People and organizations wanting to borrow money are brought together with those who have surplus funds in the financial markets” (Brigham and Houston 31). Financial markets are important to get a healthy economy. Because financial markets give credit and other necessary support for the organizations or for the government. When the organizations can have credit from the financial market, they become able to make more production. This is also preferable for the economy.

 a. For the first scenario, I would not advice Michelle to buy the shares of the company’s stock, because the stock market is very efficient, and this will be incorporated into the market of the company very quickly that it is very late for her to buy the stocks. It will be more expensive for her in this situation.

    b. It creates risk for Michelle to get many shares in the IPO and to buy shares in the open market. Buying shares of hot IPO’s is not easy for the individual investor, before it begins to trade. There is possibility of being unsuccessful for Michelle in the market and may not receive the returns from this investment. She needs to wait for some more time to learn about the results. It is better to save her money, instead of spending her money for this investment.
