Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Review Chapters 1 and 2 in the Burger (2014) textbook and refer to Figure 1.1. Review the Greene and Burke (2007) article and the McLeod (2007) web page required for this week.
- Identify one group in need and describe why this population is considered a group in need.
- Has this group historically been considered a group in need, or is this related to a recent and growing societal issue?
Review Section 1.3: Writing for an Audience, and Section 3.1: Generating Original Ideas, from Sole’s and Landrum’s (2015) Academic Research and Writing: A Guide for the Social Sciences.
- Explain how you (as a human services professional) would address these unmet needs with your chosen population, based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. If Maslow’s Hierarchy is not appropriate for your chosen population, present an argument that explains why it is not.
Your post should contain between 300 and 350 words, and any specific references to sources must be cited in APA Style (6th ed.). Respond substantively to a minimum of two peers by Day 7 of class.
